Came here for dinner on a Tuesday evening, and I was surprised that it was pretty packed. Parking isn't the greatest unfortunately; you'll most likely have to find street parking since the lot behind the restaurant has minimal spots. We ended up eating in the covered patio area, which was nice, but I would say the inside is definitely more cozy and cute. To start, I ordered a horchata and the ceviche. The ceviche was divine. The horchata tasted legit as well. It was just my entrée that was okay. It was a chicken bowl, and the ingredients did taste fresh, but there was just something about it that was meh. I will say at least the portion size was really good and I ended up taking half of it home for leftovers the next day.

The five stars is for the unique interaction between the chips and the sloshy tangy red salsa along with the soothing creamy green dip. Most other places serve just one salsa. If they serve two salsas, both have the same personality, just different colors and flavors. At Luna the chips are an active participant with the salsa and dip - with all three carrying an equal load. Not like the passive chips at Pollo Loco. Luna is located in a cluster of strong Mexican restaurants each within a few minutes walk from another: Cheff Che, Zona Rosa, Cazuelas, Lindo, and Luna. There is also Chipotlé for people who don't want to risk anything new. The inside seating at the Alameda location is more intimate, while the inside seating at the Campbell location is more corporate.

I'm not a huge fan of mexican food but this place was really good and had good vegan, veg and pescatarian options! chile relleno de cabacitas - 4.5/5 it was really good the cheese really made it, but It definitely needed some spice or salt. I got a habanero salsa for another dollar and the green salsa at the table and adding those really helped with the flavor. enchiladas suizas - 4/5 my partner ordered this lychee-azul lunarita - 4/5 tasted a bit more like a generic fruit than lychee but it was good horchata - 3/5 I felt like this was overpoweringly sweet, would not get again. I did like the complimentary chips and the green salsa was really good. Service was also really good and they refilled our chips 3 times. Portion sizes were good we did not have any place for dessert lol. There is a wait here and only an in person wait list. Wait was about 30 mins on a 8pm fri night for 2 people. There's outdoor and indoor seating and we were sat indoors. The weather was pleasant but there are no heat lamps as far as i saw outdoors. I would come here again to try the vegan enchiladas or salmon tostada.

I loooove the Coliflor Frito from here! So good. I would come back here and just munch on those with a frozen lunarita! Among the entrees, I'd probably recommend their enchiladas! My go-to is the Mole Poblano. The Horchata French Toast here is tasty too :) This visit, I tried out the Mexi Cali Burrito from the brunch menu. Honestly, wasn't anything special and kind of dry. Mid at best. Try their other options!

Lovely Mediterranean style ambiance. But they have a lot of outdoor seating and we were offered a table outdoors in the 55 degree winter cold. They do have heaters though which they turned on for us. We got Omega3 bowl- the salmon in the bowl had a crispy exterior and was severely under seasoned. It had a very fishy smell as well which I don't particularly fancy. Bowl also had salad, sweet potato, quinoa and avocado. So definitely very healthy! Chile like chicken bowl - ingredients were fresh, flavors were decent. Chicken was well cooked. All the elements in the bowl worked together cohesively. Chicken tacos- plate came with only two tacos and some beans. They offer chips and salsa on the house, there were two salsas- one was warm and the other had a creamy green color. Neither of the salsas got me stoked.

LUNA Mexican kitchen was such a good find! We walked in without a reservation on a Saturday around lunch and it was no problem. Upon getting a table, we were presented with freshly fried tortilla chips with 2 house salsas. Both were delicious, but I especially enjoyed the green salsa! We opted to share the elote for an appetizer and this one was just alright in my opinion. The cob kernels were a bit small so I didn't quite feel like I got a good elote experience, especially compared to the ones at a street fair with the charred husks. I'd opt for another app if I were you. However, my entree absolutely redeemed the experience! I went with the salmon tacos which featured PERFECTLY cooked filets. It was generous in size, so tender, and so buttery! It was a 10 out of 10 experience for sure! Boyfriend got the chicken bowl and it was also a very generous helping. He also very much enjoyed his meal. Prices are very fair for the quality of the food and I would absolutely recommend a visit if you're in the area.
